Please note that even if I knew how to merge two protected files manually, the error message only tells me where one of the files is.

I don't know how I'm supposed to use this now. I have no idea how to "merge" files or allow overwrite.

Here we go again, this file I could find but I did not have permission to rename it.

Were you able to solve this problem?

If not, removing or renaming the file in the second problem (/etc/nix/nix.conf) needs to be done with sudo.
