Notes not being recognized

When I create a new folder a blank note is open by default. If I use that same blank auto generated note, it oftentimes doesn't save the data. It doesn't recognize that there is a note at all. I can tell by looking at how many notes are in the folder, it will show zero. I have to add some data then press the plus sign to create a note manually and then it shows up in the notebook and saves. Highly frustrating.
